It had been a couple of weeks and Scott was beginning to settle in at the new job. He was gaining comfort with his new coworkers and the tasks of the job. Even though he wished he could have crossed-rate to a medical position, this position was certainly a better fit than some of the tasks he could have been assigned. Yet nearly as soon as he settled in, he's shipping out, so to speak. Apparently another seabee got injured in an on-base work accident and has been reassigned from construction work to Scott's area. Since they had enough people in Scott's area, Scott has been reassigned and will have a new job effective immediately.
Speaking of work... I took out the garden today and Gianna insisted on helping. We were both covered in dirt, seeds, and tomatoes within minutes. A neighbor was kind enough to throw our plant waste in the back of his pickup and haul it to the town compost heap. Believe it or not, because of our kind and generous neighbors, this is the first yard work I've had to do since Scott left.

Here's to hoping he likes the new position as well.
