Each night, Gianna and I crawl into bed and say our evening prayers. We start with thanking God for blessings of the day (Gianna usually starts with Daddy and then lists all the people she knows and then adds blankie, milk, and church). Then we ask God to bless us tomorrow and we name people or events that will be part of our next day. At the end, I say, "Thank you God for all of your blessings. Please continue to help us. Amen." Tonight, Gianna added to my ending by explaining, "Mommy, I think maybe we need to help God, too."
Out of the mouths of babes...
So I asked her what she thought we could do to help God. She said, "like when He falls on the sidewalk, we could help Him up." I don't know that she knows enough detail of the passion of our Lord to have made a specific reference to Christ's third fall, but I do know that she has a pure and good heart and wants to serve God through neighbor. Praise God!
